Philip J. O'Shea, Jr.

philip.jpgPhilip J. (Chip) O’Shea, Jr., has successfully handled thousands of personal injury cases for nearly 40 years.  He began as an Allstate claims adjuster while in law school and, thereafter, as a defense attorney for O’Shea, Adamson, Reynolds & Napier, where he tried numerous cases at the request of insurance companies.  It was during this decade plus of experience that he learned how insurance companies operate, how to get their attention and how to get them to pay.  In 1984, he “switched sides” and, since that date, for the last 30 years, he has exclusively represented people who have been injured or died due to the carelessness of others.  He has successfully resolved, whether by trial or settlement, claims of virtually every type:  motor vehicle, construction, nursing home, product, boating, wrongful death, trucking, labor law, fall down, medical malpractice, dog bite, defective premises, ATV, and more.  His extensive experience and knowledge as a trial attorney, including knowing how insurance companies operate, give him and his partners at Smith, Miner, O'Shea & Smith an added edge in securing the best possible financial outcome.  He also has been honored as a "New York Super Lawyer" and named to Business First's Who's Who in Law.

Chip O’Shea was educated at Canisius High School, Holy Cross College (Worcester, MA) and the University of Buffalo Law School.  He is married to Deborah O’Shea, a lawyer, has 3 adult children, 4 grandchildren and 2 Irish Setters.  When not working on his clients’ lawsuits, he can be found sailing on Lake Erie or renovating his Canadian cottage.
